Build a Base & Steal Plants Progression Guide: What to Prioritize After Your First Session
A post-first-session priority guide for Build a Base & Steal Plants: keep money arriving, layer your walls, save toward a rebirth, then carry space and pets.
After your first session, Build a Base & Steal Plants stops steering you. The loop — roll for rare plants, build your base, break in and steal, collect pets, earn while you're away — pulls in every direction at once, and each part of it wants cash. One extended session shows a workable order to grow through: keep money arriving, layer your walls, bank toward a rebirth, then take the carry-space upgrade, with barbed wire, an expansion and pets filling out the mid-game. If the basics are still fuzzy, how to get plants and how to build a base cover the setup — everything below is about what comes next.

What you're working toward
Every coin feeds the game's stated loop: roll for rare plants, build your base, break into other bases, steal plants and protect yours, collect helpful pets, and earn money while you're away. Co-op is available if friends want in. Each step below serves a piece of that loop.
Keep money arriving
The official description's promise — “Earn money while you're away!” — is the bedrock of everything else, because walls, wire, upgrades and expansions all cost cash. Let offline earnings pile up between sessions and reinvest them as soon as you're back.
Air drops are a second stream. They appear on a timer — one was seen with 30 minutes on the clock — and can be collected for cash or items; one collected drop in that session paid out 10k. Grab them when you can, but don't plan around any single drop: one couldn't be collected when the player finally reached it.
Layer your walls as cash allows
Walls come in levels, at least 1 through 4, and higher levels stack on top of weaker ones — level 2 builds on top of level 1, and costs scale up as you climb. In that session, level 2 was out of reach at first and only bought later, level 3 followed as cash allowed, and a level 4 wall went onto the savings plan. Every extra layer makes it harder for raiders to jump over — one heavily layered base made a would-be thief call its owner “super hard to steal from” — but layers were still jumpable, so treat height as buying time, not immunity.
Barbed wire adds an outer ring. Level two barbed wire cost 100k in that session and went around the base outskirts once the money was there. For everything that keeps planted loot safe, see the base layouts guide.
Bank toward a rebirth
Rebirthing pays out cash and upgrades, which is why it's worth planning for — but it demands specific plants plus a serious coin sum. The first requirement observed was an apple tree, a sunflower and 100,000 coins, and the 5k figure shown nearby was only what that rebirth unlocks, not its price. Requirements escalate from there: the next one asked for a peach, a lemon and 1 million coins.
That turns plant collecting into rebirth prep. Keep rolling so the plants you need are already in your collection when the coins come through, and guard them — stealing plants from other plots is half the game, and how to get plants covers both ways to collect.
After a rebirth: carry space
Carry space is the buy one player calls “always the best first” right after a rebirth: the more you can carry, the more you make.
Mid-game purchases: expansions and pets
With income and defense running, bigger purchases fill out the plot. Prices seen in that one session — expect them to change after updates:
| Purchase | Observed cost |
|---|---|
| Base expansion | 50k |
| Level two barbed wire | 100k |
Pets arrive at their own stage of the loop. In that session, the player reached the point where they could build in the pets section and had a cat in their sights. The pets guide picks up from there.
Check the Codes page before you spend
Active codes change as the game updates. Before sinking savings into an upgrade, check the Codes page — anything you've seen quoted elsewhere may already be gone.
Where that session ended
By the end of the run, the base had walls a few layers deep, wire going around the outskirts, a rebirth banked and carry space upgraded — with the next rebirth's peach, lemon and 1 million coins already in view. Keep the loop turning — roll, build, steal, protect — and every coin has a job waiting.
